Out of Body: New Narratives in Figurative Art
The human body will never cease to be a source of creative inspiration. The artists in our first exhibition of 2025 use figurative art as a springboard to share personal narratives, create visual metaphors, probe identity issues, and question the status quo at a time when bodily autonomy is under attack, and teachers can be fired for showing a slide of Michelangelo’s “David.”
NOT REAL ART is an LA Based nonprofit that provides a virtual platform for artists with their First Friday Exhibitions.
“Echoes Within” Opening Reception
Meet the artists and view the exhibition at the opening reception of Echoes Within on January 10 from 6-9pm at Slip Gallery in Seattle, WA.
Enjoy light snacks and music provided.

No prior artistic experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and an open mind!

“Reconstructing the Self” Art Exhibition
"Reconstructing the Self" is an immersive installation exploring body dysmorphia, self-perception, and identity through large-scale charcoal drawings and interactive sculptures. By portraying distorted human forms, the exhibition delves into the disconnect between internal self-image and external perception, inviting viewers to confront this dissonance and navigate their own interpretations of body and self.
Mindscape - Bodyscape
Mindscape - Bodyscape is a powerful, immersive paper-based art installation that combines large-scale drawings and interactive sculptures to explore the complexities of body dysmorphia, self-perception, and identity. This exhibition aims to provoke thoughtful discussions around how we perceive our own bodies, how others perceive us, and how these two perspectives often clash.
Art/Poetry Group Exhibition
This Art and Poetry Collaborative exhibition will demonstrate how voices of poets and artists who self-identify as affected by mental illness can heal and create empathy in Rochester, Minnesota. The goal is to examine how mental health can impact groups differently, including youth, BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and underserved populations. I would display work at the Historic Chateau Theater in downtown Rochester from poets and artists who self-identify as affected by mental illness. The exhibit and broadside release would open with a poetry reading and ceremony in April 2025, National Poetry Month, and be open to the public through May 2025, National Mental Health Awareness Month
