Sculpting the Self
This collection explores complexities of body dysmorphia, self-perception, and identity. Through static and wearable sculptures, I seek to provoke thoughtful discussions about how we perceive our own bodies, how others perceive us, and how these perspectives often clash. An exploration of body dysmorphia is at the core—a condition that distorts one's self-image and physical appearance. The work delves into the tension between our memory of what our body looks like, how our body feels, and the reality of what it actually is. This disconnect is a central theme that will be visually articulated through abstract, distorted representations of the human form, reflecting the often disorienting experience of living with body dysmorphia.
